Your Local Dental Committee (LDC) is here to represent and support you. If you are a levy-paying dentist in an area covered by one of the LDCs within The Federation, you can contact us for a confidential discussion about anything at any time. We will do our best to provide you with all useful information we have available relating to your query. If we cannot answer your question, we can usually direct you to another organisation that can help.
In particular, we are always pleased to talk to dentists about their experiences, as the sharing of general information often helps those in the wider professional community. Dentistry is a stressful profession; providing high quality care to patients is a demanding job, made more difficult by the constraints of various NHS and regulatory systems.
But it should be a rewarding one too. We exist to represent and support you. Please do not hesitate to contact us at any time.
All our discussions and correspondence take place in strict confidence.
Please note that there are a number of charitable organisations formed to provide support in specific circumstances:
The Dentists’ Health Support Programme is run by the Trust to provide dental professionals with free advice and support on alcohol, drugs, eating disorders and other health issues.
The Dentists’ Benevolent Fund exists to help dental professionals of all ages and their families who are in serious financial need as a result of illness, accident, or other adversity.
