The South East London LDC AGM took place on Monday 24 November.
The Board was appointed following the nomination process which ran over the summer:
- Bexley – Harmail Bassi
- Bromley – Neda Hussaini Nasab
- Greenwich – Anthony Bendkowski
- Lewisham – Tarik Shembesh
- Southwark – Jayesh Patel
The Board thanked George Brown for his time as Director of the LDC for Lambeth, and his instrumental work in helping the LDC become established in its new form. George will remain as an active member of the LDC leading engagement in the borough, however.
The focus of the AGM was on the plan for increased engagement in 2026, ahead of the contractual changes coming into force in April. While engagement with the South East London ICB had been sporadic over the last three years, the LDC has secured a meeting with the new dental lead for the area and hopes to build on that relationship going forward.
Borough level engagement continues to be strong, however, with regular meetings with local stakeholders including local primary care networks, directors of public health and healthwatch. These relationships help keep dentistry on the agenda locally and help ensure that local stakeholders understand how dentistry works and what issues we face.
The LDC will increase the number of reports and level of engagement with members, hosting four planned members meetings in 2026 to gather feedback on issues you’re facing and to share updates on what is happening at the local and national level.
