The London Borough of Hounslow’s Domestic and Sexual Abuse Service aims to raise awareness among dental practices treating residents of the borough. We offer free and confidential advice and support to anyone affected by domestic and sexual abuse, including forced marriage, honour based abuse, stalking, and harassment.
Currently, we collaborate with GP practices in the borough and are eager to extend this partnership to dental practices. We have developed a straightforward referral pathway for professionals to use, ensuring a seamless process and are keen to share this with you.

“Working with the Hounslow Independent domestic violence Advisor (IDVA) and the wider domestic and sexual abuse team has been an invaluable support for GP practices. Being able to refer to a specialist advocate has helped support our colleagues in extending the right help, expertise and signposting our patients to wider support networks and has helped in escalating some cases where needed to MARAC for more targeting support and intervention. The flexibility and approachability of the team has been so valuable.”
