Health Secretary calls on public and professionals to shape the Government’s plans for the NHS

The Government will be publishing a 10 year plan for the NHS in Spring 2025 and is seeking engagement from the public and professionals. The plan will be based on three aspects of healthcare:

  • hospital to community – the formation of new neighbourhood health centres, closer to homes and communities which will give people access to family doctors, district nurses, care workers, physiotherapists, health visitors or mental health specialists in one place.
  • analogue to digital – improvements to the NHS App to bring correspondence, test results and health information into one place. The intention is to improve communication by ensuring relevant data is shared more easily and to stop patients having to repeat themselves.
  • sickness to prevention – a focus on reducing the amount of time spent in ill health and preventing illnesses before they arise.

The LDC Confederation will be submitting a response on behalf of LDCs, but we urge all dental professionals and their teams to respond in their own right through the dedicated website: https://change.nhs.uk which is live until early 2025.
